The buyer wanted to use them, I did not as the seller. We had an agreement that the buyer would pay all the MBO fees because it was a split settlement, however multiple times during the transaction the MBO fees kept ending up on my side of the ALTA. Then lastly the day of closing because I had a bank account that I wanted the funds transferred to vs what was on title she held up my funds and was being very difficult in disbursing a large amount of money to me. Settlement was in mid July. I find out in September that DC Water was not notified and didn't get a bill so they turned the water off. Meanwhile, I had a tenant with 3 kids moved in and next day, water was turned off. I contacted MBO and their response was they are working on it and then radio silence. I had to followup with DC water and pay off the bill to get water turned back on for tenant.
