I brought my 2001 Miata in with an immobilizer issue to the service center. Even though they were not able to fix the car due to Mazda no longer making and stocking the required parts, they made sure to do everything they could to ensure I left a satisfied customer. Big shout out to Mr. Scott Benson, the service manager. He seems like he genuinely cares about what he does and in helping people get the cars they love back on the road.
Brought my car in for an inspection and they told me I needed a new transmission and a new clutch. I went to a transmission specialist and they said, and I quote, "I cannot work on this car in good faith. There is nothing wrong with the transmission or clutch". Mazda did say that the car was too old to get parts for so they couldn't replace the trans and clutch... still concerning that they tried to mark everything up as needing replacement parts. My daughter lost her key fob - bought one from Southern Mazda in Newport News. Had the car towed to Cavalier where I purchased an additional fob for $331 bc I was told two fobs were needed to program it. They did not ask me any info about the VIN#. Fob arrived next day, but it was the wrong fob so they credited me $331. Then proceeded to tell me that the car had other issues that needed to be addressed first. Informed me later that the steering lock needed to be replaced to the tune of $2100, and that they COULD NOT program ... read more
