I was attempting to schedule an eye exam for my 4 yr old but discovered that so many places won't even see a child until they are at least 5 yrs old. I reached out to Mayville Vision and they were happy to see him and work with us to get him evaluated. They were so warm and welcoming from the second we walked in and made my usually timid kiddo very comfortable. Went in for an appointment today and was disappointed in the hospitality of the receptionist. When I walked in, she did not smile or have a friendly demeanor. Her interaction was very cold and spoke robotically with minimal eye contact. I was immediately put off and didn't want to be there. That is one of the most important interactions during a visit and sets the tone for how at ease the patient will feel. Poor service. Wasted my time and money. She adjusted my prescription so that I needed a stronger reading glasses but I couldn't see. Couldn't even wear the contacts she gave me. She put contacts back to regular prescription but left glasses at new prescription and somehow I'm supposed to bounce back and forth between the two??? The glasses give me eye fatigue and a headache every time I wear them. So that's $300+ down the drain because they flat out refuse to fix. Totally wonderful experience! From the friendliness of the phone call for appointment, then the appointment today. Very thorough eye exam, a warmth and caring from the Dr, to the ladies who went above and beyond to really help me choose glasses, offering opinions, suggestions, everything so pleasant, everyone so kind and helpful.
