Fairmont Mayo Clinic Hospital----Do not take your elderly loved one here! The Physicians & Social Worker are way too eager to shove your loved one into a nursing home. Getting incentives $$$ for putting the elderly in nursing homes? It sure seemed like it, by what happened in 4 days that I was there. Closed the urgent care center even though it was always full. Closed the birthing ward. Closed surgery. Gotta go to Mankato. I wish the big wigs in charge would make that drive just once when they need care. I had to do this yesterday to avoid paying an exorbitant ER room bill. My portal in August, 2024 said to make an appointment in February, 2025. Called for appointment, schedule not open. Can't tell me when it will be open. Then got disconnected when they tried to transfer me to Patient Experience. Also on the portal it says I needed lab work with that appointment. Nearest lab that came up (on the portal to schedule) was 147 miles away when there is a Mayo laboratory about a half mile from my home and Mayo Clinic in Fairmont, MN. Very frustrating.
Worst ever experience ever ! i went into hospital 11:00 pm left next at 2:00 . Late night staff were great. Next not so much Had to have my gallbladder removed it was important. They couldn't get me in there so have to take ambulance or get someone to Drive and say about ambulance. only take me there can't promise time it would be there .my friend that was there helped a lot try them to do something. Finally she had to dry me that was sad .will not be back
Went into the ER for the first time after being with these guys for decades. Got sent to another “provider” because they lacked rooms. Then got balance billed. Now the finger pointing begins.
