I came to Mayo Clinic expecting a higher standard of care — not just in medicine, but in professionalism and communication. Instead, I had an experience that felt disorganized, rushed, and honestly, careless. My appointment was set for 7:30 AM — likely the first of the day if not the second time slot. — yet the doctor arrived 45 minutes late, carrying her coffee and purse, and didn’t even apologize or acknowledge the delay. My doctor sent me to Mayo Clinic because his treatment is not working. I am continuously sick and have lost now 40 pounds in the past 6 months. I’m malnourished and have developed an arrhythmia. Mayo Clinic refused to see me because “what the doctor is doing is what we would do.” When the whole reason my doctor sent me is because I obviously need more treatment than he is able to provide. There are no words that can BEGIN to describe the amazing care I received from the Mayo Clinic. After having been neglected by my own care team in CO for months I took action and followed the simple steps provided by the clinic to get an appointment. AVOID!!! AVOID!!! They ASKED ME ALL THE QUESTIONS, TOOK ALL MY INFORMATION, AND waited over a week for a telephone APPT!!!
