I have been to Mayfield Restaurant four times now and the food and service is top notch. I haven't had food of this quality with variety, outstanding flavor and great prices anywhere in Altoona or Hollidaysburg before. I've met the owner several times now and she is awesome. She goes out of her way to see to it that you're happy with your food is hot and that it is a presentation. I highly recommend Mayfield to anyone that wants a nice relaxed atmosphere with great food.
I got the hash with bacon and ham. Potatoes were a little undercooked. The egg was way overcooked, scrambled. The house hot sauce was definitely different, but not too bad. Probably won't go back. You should make your own decision.
Excellent food, presentation and Atmosphere.! Too close to home to stay at the hotel, but would love this as a place away from home.
