Large variety of equipment for powerlifting, bodybuilding or general strength training. The gym has an abundance of plates so you will never run out or take them from other machines. The staff and trainers were very friendly and helpful for any questions you may have. For powerlifters they have a variety of specialty bars, kilo plates and two combo racks.
The performance gym had many unique resources I have not seen in other gyms, and they reinforce their rules well, in terms of maintaining the equipment. The hours here are decent too, but if you really need to work at night, there is a 24 hour location too. I will add more details to that in a separate review. Fantastic facility. Owner formerly competed and truly understands what is needed. Jeff, the manager, works endlessly to improve the equipment. In 40 years of training I’ve rarely seen the constant reinvestment that I do here.
MaxFit is a decent gym in the Williamsburg area. The machines are mostly LifeFitness or Hammer Strength. The machines vary in quality with some being rather janky (glute kickback, assisted pull up), yet some others are newer (hamstring curl/hack squat). MaxFit has a nice staff who are helpful.
