Hard to get a reservation, but there's a good reason why, Maxey is sacred ground. Beautiful, beautiful, our favorite cabin. Stream near the cabins, and a large meadow filled with all sorts of life. Almost stepped on a harmless garter snake out there, and we saw over 11 different bird species. Olive fly catcher, western tanagers, red and white winged crossbills, chipping sparrow, pine siskins everywhere, ravens, robins, Swainson's thrush, mountain chickadees and a pair of three toed woodpeckers.
