I have a G-Shock gulf master gwn-1000 which I had for almost 10 years. I needed the battery changed and changed it once a while ago. I came in the shop and asked for a service. One guy brought another so I showed him the picture of the battery which is a CTL1616 rechargeable different from the regular CR1616. The guys said yeah and took my watch so I followed and brought to another store. He gave my watch to another guys and he started opening my watch.
