I too had a bad experience with Maureen Rischmueller. I had been seeing another Rheumatologist for Psoriatic arthritis for years when Maureen took over and straight away diagnosed me with tophaceous gout due to a lump on my elbow. She refused to listen when I told her it was from a previous break and I wanted proof of the gout diagnosis. She took great pleasure in trying to get a sample with a big bore needle but was unable to. I had a similar experience as another reviewer. For my initial QEH Rheumatologist appointment I saw Rischmueller. She was cold and it was a very perfunctory examination. After dealing with constant pain for 20 years, I was just relieved to finally be seen, after being on the public waitlist for 3 1/2 years. I told her I believed I had fibromyalgia due to my symptoms and research. She dismissed my having the things she specialised in (arthritis, etc) and was ending my appointment as if that were it. I unfortunately had a bad experience with Dr Rischmueller. She helped me rule out the conditions that she is interested in, but she became cold and angry with me when I asked for her expertise in diganosing my mystery illness, which was very demoralising.
