Dr. Soren Carlsen of Maui Urology is the best. Clearly better than any urologist I have found on the mainland. He’s smart, compassionate and takes the time to properly diagnose your problems while recommending an effective remedy. I consider myself lucky to have found him and hope Maui can manage to keep him here. He’s a treasure.
When I asked Dr. Carlsen about a procedure, he offered to schedule a diagnostic test to see if I was a candidate. He told me it would be a $100 charge—no mention of insurance, no mention of additional costs. Just a flat $100 test. I paid that amount at the time of the appointment. Eight months later, I received a phone call from their billing department telling me I had an outstanding $900 bill and would be sent to collections in 10 days.
