I had sudden-onset, chronic, debilitating pain in both my feet that grew increasingly severe over a nearly two year period until some days I could hardly walk. (I’m 36 years old and otherwise in pretty good health.) My PCP referred me to a rheumatologist, who referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, who referred me to a different rheumatologist.
