Confrontational style, did not explain during my first appointment really anything regarding next steps. Literally looked at me and said 'do you want to do a shot or surgery?' Without explaining what to expect with either. He rushed through my appointment, didn't listen or really answer any questions. I felt like he was angry with me over even asking questions or not already knowing the information. He was kind and caring! Surgery went well and I was pleased with the result.
I have psoriatic arthritis which has resulted in multiple surgeries. I used 3 other hand surgeons before finding Dr Welsch, who performed 5 different procedures on my hand/wrist and 1 on my shoulder. The other surgeons I visited never explained the condition/issues as thoroughly as Dr Welsch. The other surgeons also did not explain long term consequences like Dr Welsch did. Think this Dr is a nice guy. I get in and out quick, he answer's my questions and is honest if the shots I'm going to receive in my different joints will hurt or not. I prefer the honesty.I would highly recommend Dr Welsch.
Had a finger joint injury. He barely even looked at my finger. He definitely did not touch or examine it. He just said you need physical therapy. Very unhappy with the generalization he made with me as if all injuries are the same.
