Matteo's Osteria is probably the best restaurant in Maui. The wine selection is outstanding — hundreds of wonderful bottles housed in a custom-built wine cave on-site. The food is consistently great across the board: pasta, fish, meat, desserts — even the bread is exceptional. The staff is top-notch, with nothing to envy from the Michelin-starred restaurants we've tried during our trips to Europe. We go to Matteo's every year when we're in Maui — it's become a tradition at this point. Strongly recommend.
DELICIOUS dinner at Matteo’s with EXCELLENT service from Suque! We had the Zucca salad, Caesar, burrata, Frutti Di Mare, and Carbonara. Everything was perfect and the service was prompt, personable and fun. Cannot wait to come back!
The atmosphere is great and the service is amazing. The pasta and pizza are good, but don't get the tiramisu: I used to order it all the time and it was excellent, but now it just tastes like rum—and in this hot, humid weather, it just makes you feel sick; plus, it doesn't taste like authentic Italian tiramisu. Also, it’s become more expensive than Ruth's—where you get a steak, not pizza and pasta.
We really enjoyed our dinner and drinks last Friday evening, and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Maui.
