Amazing service and great ribs with Italian wines.
Chicken parmesano tasted like the chicken was defrosted in a hurry or old. It was tough and tasteless. My son's pizza on the other hand tasted good.
Made reservations for a large group of 11. Manager made accommodations for us, but when we arrived had to wait another 20 minutes for Our table was ready. Server took another 10 or so to greet us and then took another 10+ to get our initial app order in. Staff was very friendly, so that definitely helped and kept them at 4 stars for service ( versus 3 or lower). The food was out of this world, which is why I would highly recommend Mateo’s to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Wailea/Kihe area.
One of the better Italian restaurants on the island. Drinks: Ciao Bella and Maui Mule, both delicious! The Parma Antipasti was just right! Had the Lasagna & Isola but they didn’t have their fresh catch, so had to substituted for another fish, and Affogato for dessert, the bartender was very friendly. You’re in Wailea, so it’s a bit pricey and they didn’t offer Kama’aina discount.
