Totally agree, very cheap building materials. The customer care office has some rude people working in there, especially if you are a tenant and not a home owner. During the winter months the central air in one of their buildings was broken for months and caused nearly every tenant with curtains (not blinds) to experience serious condensation and mold issues. The lied and said it was not because of the central air, yet when it was finally fixed months later the issue "magically" disappeared. This was my second winter living ... read more
I called in to inquire about their homes. The sale Agent, Burnidette came off rude by not letting me ask questions. I felt she was not polite in the phone I really didn't want to give her my info because of the experience talking to her. Then I told her I would stop in to look at homes. We would be second time buyers from Mattamy. I came in and she said she was the only sales person there. She did not want to take the time to show us the model homes. Then when we got back, I asked her to show us the ones she h... read more
Had cracks in brand new driveway when we moved in to the house in August 2021. Reported to Mattamy at that time and were told that they would take care of the cracks. Now after two years am being told that they will ‘patch’ the cracks as a “courtesy” since the one year warranty period is up. One year on a new driveway when the problem was reported to them at closing is ridiculous. The cracks keep getting larger and Mattamy obviously does not want to correct the problem. Make sure you get everything fixed before you close on... read more
I am grateful for the solid construction of my Mattamy Home. My home survived Hurricane Ian (Cat 4, almost Cat 5). We had a tree topple over in the backyard, but that was it. We moved from Illinois in May of 2022 and were used to tornadoes and blizzards, but nothing compared to this monster of a storm. I'd buy again.
Pay close attention to the condition of bath tubs, sinks, cabinets, etc. that Mattamy Homes installs in your “new” home. I’m convinced they buy and install used/ damaged pieces at a discount and then market themselves as a higher end builders. There are/were plenty of craftsmanship problems I noticed before closing, but they had been pushing our date out for six months and I was exhausted. Our living situation during those 6 months was not comfortable and was physically and mentally draining- so by the time we were actuall... read more
The absolute worst home builder in the valley. All joking aside, a cardboard box would have been a better purchase. The quality is so poor it makes you sick to your stomach. Miss matched paint, wrong paint, damaged floor tiles , damaged roof tiles, broken windows, doors that don't close, doors that don't open, damaged sliding door, 73 drywall screw heads sticking out, stucco cracked all over the house, blinds that don't fit properly , windows falling apart. The list goes on and on over 60 items noted to ROC and they failed t... read more
My Wife and I Built with Royal Oaks 4 years ago. We were happy with the customer service, build quality, and project managers. We were pleased enough that when we were looking to build again, we found a nearby Mattamy Neighborhood (Ballentine Place) and felt comfortable knowing that a lot of Royal Oaks was still present. Were we wrong. The builder that we respected is no longer present as the big box Mattamy has taken over. We Visited Ballentine Place the weekend of February 6th and eventually came by to put our deposit ... read more

I know that the market is crazy right now, but from the first meeting with the Mattamy Homes sales team, everything went downhill. We were pressured and rushed to hurry up and put money down or we would lose the lot or pricing. We asked a few simple questions about pricing and construction and no one could give us an answer. We were just told to hurry up or we would lose pricing or the lot again. We came in with another couple to be able to be side by side in a villa, and we were told they could only sell one side and the ot... read more
