I had been wanting to try Matsu for the past 4 years after hearing so many wonderful things about it, so we finally decided to go for our anniversary celebration yesterday. The food was truly excellent — every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Many of the dishes literally melted in our mouths, and you can tell the chef puts so much creativity and care into the tasting menu. Absolutely amazing food!
It was the restaurant’s first year after opening, and we chose it for a special double date. The bar manager was extremely knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations, which gave us a great first impression. The meal was enjoyable until we reached the main course. At the very beginning of dinner, my husband and I clearly mentioned our dietary restrictions. While our friends were served pork belly, our substitute was a plain baked potato.
