I wanted to take a moment to write and let you know about the exceptional experience we had tonight at Mati Ottawa. We were a group of 10, celebrating four birthdays, and we decided to really treat ourselves to all of the incredible food and drinks. Everything exceeded our expectations. What a treat to have lunch at Mati! We went on a Wednesday and ordered from the lunch prix-fixe menu. We started with beautifully made cocktails—the martinis were perfection—followed by arancini, steak and crudo, and steak frites. We finished with tiramisu and chocolate torte, and everything was delicious. The bartender was looking after six or seven tables while making drinks and serving, and somehow made it all look effortless. The food and service were both exceptional. Had a great meal. Would go back for sure next time we are in Ottawa. My steak was perfectly cooked. Mati is a way better option for steaks than the Keg. I love that its also locally owned and operated.
Terrible service . The cups smelled really bad . Told the server and he smelled and agreed but his answer was. “ ill check with the crew and come back saying sorry they said everything is with standard “ rather than apologizing for the dirty smell cup . Very bad experience and steak was mid. Unfortunately does not deserve the 4 stars it has . Very disappointing
