It started with my daughters teacher lettig us know she had googled "how can I stop being stupid at math." Heartbreaking to hear that your kid is struggling and knows they are struggling. I looked into private tutoring and it was so expensive for one session a week. Once I found this place it was perfect. They are so patient with my daughter and have helped her gain her confidence again about math. This has been a complete game changer for my 10 yea old daughter. We have been here for 1 year and she loves it. She has gained so much confidence in math, where before there were weekly tears about ‘not being smart’. Her school testing scores have really turned around, as well. Sometimes she is learning the next level at Mathnasium so that when it is introduced at school, she is already ahead of the curve.
My son was falling behind in Math - he was only in 2nd grade when he started to hate math - and hate going to school - and saying that he didn’t think that he was a smart kid. (He is in gifted and talented for English and Reading - so we know he is a smart kid). The new illustrative math method being taught at his elementary school combined with the no homework policy and mostly lessons on his chrome book was not working for him.
