We are about a month in and I think my most favorite part of this has been that my 14 year old really doesn’t mind going. At all! He’s also progressing nicely. Highly recommend.
If you have a kid who loves math, Mathnasium in NE Portland is a great place to be. My 6 year old lives for numbers so I decided to sign him up for Mathnasium for the summer to see what would happen with focused attention and challenge at his level. It’s been awesome. The vibe is really really nice and the teachers are great, but more importantly my son tells me it’s his favorite place, and he likes it even better than his former favorite place, Chuck E. Cheese.
The team at this location is so nice and welcoming. They have such a great rapport with both the students and parents. My daughter started 3rd grade behind grade level, and in the course of a few months, the supplemental work she did at Mathnasium helped to get on track and grade level. I’m happy to drop her off a couple of times a week, and I don’t get any resistance. The environment is positive and I know it builds her confidence in a subject that has been pretty challenging for her.
We are very happy to have supplemented our kids' education with Mathnasium tutoring. Both of our kids' test scores improved after 6 months as did their confidence. Time with wonderful math tutors has really lit a fire for one of our kids who continued to go to Mathnasium for additional math for about 2 years. Loving math is a big part of his identity at age 11 - this photo is what he picked in a recent "about me" assignment for school.
We’ve had such a wonderful experience at the Mathnasium on Fremont Street! We started going because my 8-year-old daughter was feeling frustrated with math and often struggled to finish her tests. She was also having confidence going into school in the morning. After only two months at Mathnasium, the change has been incredible. Her teacher is now telling me that my daughter is completing the tests.
