Matheson gas is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Saying they operate with shady business practices would be a severe understatement. After being a "lease" customer with them for almost 10 years, and overpaying for propane every single time we filled up, we were told that we could purchase the tank that is buried on our property at a "pro rated" amount when the lease expired, a lease that they renewed BEFORE the initial expiration date in order that they may remove any options to get away from their company. Company with very shady practices. Prices are high everywhere these days but Matheson charges almost double the going rates. We locked in a cheaper yearly contract rate which they refused to honor anymore after a single fill. When we purchased the house it was not an owned tank and where locked to Matheson to service. They charged double the typical install cost to remove the lock. Despite that being a blatant rip-off we where glad to be rid of this company and will likely make it back up in the next few years.
