I’ve had an amazing experience at the Mater throughout my pregnancy journey. Every time I’ve visited, the staff have been incredibly friendly and supportive. The team in the Pregnancy Assessment Centre (PAC) have been consistently kind, patient, and understanding. All of the midwives — including the student midwives — are knowledgeable, compassionate, and welcoming. No question or concern has ever felt dismissed. I feel confident knowing I’ll be genuinely cared for during labour and well supported after the birt

I had my daughter at the mater mother’s public hospital in April this year. I had some mixed experiences throughout the whole pregnancy with midwives and doctors. Some good experiences and some not so great. I’ll never forget the midwife that came in during the final hour of labour. It was as if God had sent me an angel at just the right moment. Don’t come here for miscarriage D&C The reception staff will humiliate you by making you announce your procedure publicly as they struggle to find you in the system as they “assume” you’re there for delivery. They also like to bring up religion and church to shame you Or they will be congratulating you on having a baby furthering your trauma Ward nurses are ill educated on the procedures and made me walk instead of taking the bed to the theatre. For a private hospital this is pathetic.
