I ordered a chicken parm sub..it was a frozen overcooked patty very dry...not much fixing...very disappointed... Far cry from a few years ago...I also ordered a porketta...very dry and overcooked pork...what's up? Mastellone subs used to be the bomb now a dudd
Old world Italian deli Mastellone's is a wonderful old style Italian deli run by family. They the BEST fresh mozzarella in town, made daily in the shop. Often they will put out a new batch while you're there. They also have huge wheels of parmesan reggiano and tons of other Italian cheeses, pastas, condiments, sauces--you name it! The shop smells delicious and it's impossible to leave empty handed. The fresh breads are great. Service is friendly and quick. A MUST if you like to eat.
Old world italian deli Mastellone's is a Baltimore fixture for those who want real Italian deli foods. It's a small shop with all kinds of imported cheeses, sausages, pasta, condiments, candy, fresh bread and other delectables. It smells wonderful! They make mozzarella cheese fresh every day in both salted and unsalted and it's better than anything you will find in the supermarkets. The employees are friendly and quick to help.
Mastellone's When we moved to Baltimore I was excited about the possibility of finding a real Italian grocer. Someone mentioned Mastellone's and we haven't gone anywhere else since. Their selection of cheeses and meats are great, and the family is helpful and friendly. There subs are also great - try the Old World Italian for a real treat!

Love having this gem in Northeast Baltimore! The imported sauces and dry pastas are top notch and just like home-made, and the deli counter (fresh made subs and sandwiches included) is out of this world! Thank you so much for being here <3
