We had a 10AM reservation for kayaking. We arrived 15 minutes early and were promptly taken inside to gather lifejackets, oars and also purchased some water. Stephen was great and gave us all sorts of information. We were on the bus by 9:55. Not only is Stephen knowledgeable on all the dos and don'ts of the river but the ride to and from he gave us many recommendations for food, shopping, town history etc. We got to the drop off and got some more information and then were sent off. We had a really great time kayaking on the Shanandoah with Massanutten Adventures. Steve could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The trip down river was beautiful with many interesting birds and turtles on display. Well worth exploring it was one of the high points of our visit to the Shanandoah valley.
Stephen was awesome. This was our first time canoeing, but Stephen left us feeling like we had done it 100 times before. He does all the heavy work for you. Gets the canoe ready, sets you up to start your float and packs everything back up in the end. Your only job is to have fun and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Listen to his instructions and advice you’ll be fine. Stephen is filled with knowledge, kind, friendly, patient and really knows the area and the river. Steve was awesome! Knowledgeable and friendly, had recommended many things to check out on the drive to the kayak launch. River was beautiful and safe, would def go again!
