Mass General Hospital doctors almost killed my elderly medically-fragile mother with sedatives. A few days ago, I took her to ER where the doctors suspected some lung infection after an x-ray. RN Kelly was extremely xenophobic and dismissive — avoid at all costs. She discussed her previous case in front of me, responding “she’s not sick” after another help staff voiced her previous patient’s sentiments. She opened our conversation making discriminatory comments regarding my accent, up until my daughter with perfect English walked in. ER visit. Was marginalized and ignored. Stuck in closet-like area elbow-to-elbow with patients with various ailments.No privacy when speaking w doctor. 13 hours. Felt worse when I left and had no answers.
I want to start by saying I am a patient of MGH, and my specialists are great, though impossible to reach. This review is of the the emergency room. Yesterday I went to MGH ER because I was experiencing excruciating pain in my portacath area and was fainting and having chest pain. I expected a port study to be done, which is the protocol typically, but this was not done.
