I was scheduled for ear surgery August 18th. That surgery was scheduled in person with doctor Jung on June 5th. I was informed July 22nd surgery was canceled because the insurance company had not pre approved the procedure. It was rescheduled for September 8th. I called the insurance company on July 22nd and it had not been approved because a request had never been submitted. I called Mass Eye and Ear back and gave them that information. To say I’m blown away by the treatment and care I’ve received at MEE, is an understatement. Sadly, treatment wasn’t an option in NY so I was referred out to see Dr. Daniel Lee for many years of ear issues. During my initial visit with Dr. Lee I felt heard. He took the time to listen to my complaints and gave me his thoughts and opinions. At this visit I had to have some buildup removed from my ear and it was painful. I was seen in the ER for an eye issue. I have an illogical and extreme fear of eye balls. I explained this to both medical professionals upon initial interaction. I have nothing but high praise for Harold, my doctor and Maryanne my nurse. They both were professional and thorough but more importantly they were compassionate and had patience. In all of my experiences with medical professionals over the decades for myself and family members, I have never seen such kindness and clear explanations. Great staff, everyone you meet is very friendly and helpful. However. I cannot recommend their Valet Service, it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our car. I will not make that mistake again. Use a parking garage so you can leave whenever you want.
