My favorite restaurant in NY – This is my new favorite restaurant in NY. It has great prices, great food, and big portions! The wait staff is nice!

Fair pricing, shabu shabu beef too thick – I love shabu shabu, and I have to say, it was overall a good experience. The only downside was that the beef slices were too thick. Plenty of veggies/noodles to go along with the mini beef shabu shabu. We ordered the ones where you cook in a small pots by yourself, but I do believe that they have larger pots if you would like to share. They also have a special before 7:30, I think its $19.95pp for some sushi appetizer, shabu shabu, and a fried ice cream. Overall a good experience, a... read more

Lunch! – I'm an NYU student and I'm here a LOT. Not only can you get cheap food, but the service is pretty quick, the sushi rolls are pretty fresh, and they have lots of other things to get. For example, theres a udon noodle soup with shrimp tempura that hearty and oh so yummy in the winter. However, I am not a fan of any of the "spicy rolls" being that the tartare tastes very much like cayenne and its overpowering. Looking for a cheap lunch spot, this is it.

Cook your own meal in hot pots at this tiny spot near NYU. – In Short Swish is a small space offering an untraditional take on classic cook-at-the-table shabu shabu. Diners construct their own meals from a choice of five cooking broths, six savory sauces, and more than 20 ingredients, including fresh shrimp, sliced steak, mushrooms, squid, fried fish, noodles, and vegetables. In addition to these options, the restaurant offers pre-composed combos for two, a host of other Japanese dishes, bubble teas, and occasional surprises... read more

How would you like that? – The space is small as are the portionsdont expect to be satiated unless you are prepared to order an abundance of food and that may prove to be an expensive proposition. As is typical with this style of cooking, your level of enjoyment will depend entirely on how you choose to dress your food. Fortunately they offer a variety of six sauces for your dipping pleasure. FYIstick with the shabu shabu, anything that the kitchen cooks will undoubtedly disappoint.

Delicious and healthy! – This is a great place! The ingredients are fresh, tasty, and well-balanced in terms of variety (and yes, even food groups). The myraid of sauces and customizable temperature settings allow you to concoct the perfect pot of deliciousness. The cooking process is a lot of fun! Perfect place for hanging with friends or a laid back date.

Delicious Delicious!!!! – Excellent service, environment, and more importantly, excellent food. I'm an experienced shabu shabu lover. To me, what distinguishes the good ones from the bad ones are the selection of raw material(meat, vege, etc.), the flavor of the soup base and the dipping sauce. Swish definitly belongs to the higher end of the scale in all three categories. "Swish Moo" is one of my favorite on their menu. I also love the "house special" and "chicken" flavored soup base. "ShaCha" dipping sauce would always be ... read more

Happy to have found this place! It's in a good area - a pretty block right near NYU. The food is incredible. The staff are great and explain all of the customs, how it's done. They serve HUGE portions of fresh food that you cook in a pot of broth yourself - it's different, but interesting to learn this Asian custom. I had the coconut tea with tapioca pearls to drink - a new experience, very interesting, and very delicious. I had the beef lunch and I could barely finish all of the food they served, including steak, two types ... read more
