The food is good and filling and there is no skimping on the service. Family style is a good way to go, especially with a large party. The only problem I have is that there are too many rules about 'sharing ' or substituting and that is a major staple for me on a restrictive diet. However, the food is well prepared and very tasty. They also do their best to accommodate special situations. We enjoy visiting Mary Yoder's. For the reasons I have mentioned, that's why I gave 4 stars but it is more like 4.5.
Great experience. Good food as if grandma was in the back cooking. Food comes out hot and quickly. The gift shop is filled with unusual things. Bakery is to die for. Clean and plesant place to go with the family and enjoy a good meal looking around at merchadise and taking a slice of pie home.
DESPITE THE ATMOSPHERE AND WONDERFUL SALAD BAR, THE SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS OF THIS AMISH RESTAURANT HAS A LOT TO BE DESIRED. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUSTOMER SERVICE OR THE "CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT". THE MANAGER WAS AWFUL TO ME AFTER MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SERVICE. HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TIPPED THE WAITRESS IF I DIDN'T LIKE THE SERVICE. THIS PLACE IS NOT FRIENDLY AND I AM NEVER GOING BACK. PRICES ARE HIGH AND THE FOOD IS SO SO.
A quaint Amish restaurant in Geauga County, this is food like Grandma used to make. Beef, Turkey, Fried Chicken...mmmm. Served family style this is great comfort food. Prices are a little on the high side, but this is a great dining experience.
