Mary is a wonderfully gifted teacher. She is empathetic and skilled. I love that she brings a world perspective to all of the music and really passes on her appreciation of musicality phrasing. Are you looking to learn a new musical skill from a long time expert? Mary Lord is classically trained, a dedicated teacher, and takes the time to make sure all her pupils learn to the best of their abilities! She is patient and disciplined, and definitely knows what she is doing! I honestly cannot think of anyone I would recommend sooner!
Mary is a very passionate guitarist who is knowledgeable not only about the correct playing of the guitar and music, but also the theory behind the music. This gives you better understanding of what you are doing and why. Mary is a serious musician and great teacher. Her lessons have changed how I play and how I approach music. Mary has a high demand on both techniques and musicality. Having practiced on my own for many years, I have developed habits that prevents me from producing a nice tone and bring out the full volume of the guitar. Mary is one of the nicest people I know--she's dedicated to her work, and is a really understanding person. She is one of the warmest people I know, and really knows what she's doing. In the past five years, I've seen Mary teach many pupils--she puts in a lot of work, and is one of the best teachers I've observed. I would highly recommend her to anybody! Mr. Gamboa has not been one of her pupils, and his review should be taken with a dumpster of salt, because a grain is insufficient.
