My daughter had an appt recently with Dr. Vance. She was thorough in her exam, she spent a full hour between the the medical history and physical exam. She is a very old school doctor, one that is slowly becoming extinct, and I hope her fellows are paying close attention to her methods. She is extremely intelligent, explaining each result with evidence to back up her treatment plan. I highly recommend her for any Neuro-Endocrinology need.
I had surgery on my lower back L4 L5 over 8 years ago. I am a nurse, and I was in severe pain. I could not walk without crying. I had a bulging disk at L4 L5. Dr Shimer was amazing. I have been pain free for almost 9 years now. I recommend him to anyone I know needed surgery to their spine.
He did my spinal cord implant several years ago. I was left with debilitating pain for 2+ weeks, then with an implant that hasn't helped my neuropathy pain one bit. I have had someone turn it off without my knowing it, and I couldn't tell the difference. Not once did anyone call to see how I was. The wires were placed far away from where the trial wires were placed. This facility is a complete joke. I scheduled an appointment for a check up. PSA/cholesterol/ heart concern etc. After giving blood I got results but forgot to check cholesterol so went back and gave blood again. Still no results! The PA was very good but the whole system is so unorganized and we hear from everyone except who did the actual exam. I have cancelled my remaining appointments and will begin this all over again down the road. It is so disheartening and feel sorry for the patients that cannot voice their opinion.... read more
