I went to Dr Mary Greene because my cholesterol was high. She ordered a stress test. During the test, they attach 12 leads and you walk on a treadmill for 6 minutes. During the last minute of the test, 3 of the 12 leads detached completely. The nurse tried to reattach but was not successful. Dr Greene declared that I failed the last minute of the stress test and required I do a heart CT scan, which requires an IV and contrast. Dr. Greene and her staff were fantastic! I went to my initial appointment feeling very scared and anxious. I had been to a different cardiologist in Queens who recommended an invasive and expensive heart monitor and I felt so uncomfortable and knew I needed a second opinion. Dr. Green and her assistant were phenomenal. They reassured me, gave me the proper tests, and gave me a much less invasive heart monitor to wear. Because I am a 53 yr old patient the doctor looked at me & dismissed the fact that not just younger people get Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. I know that older people get it because I have a friend that was 48yrs old and was diagnosed. I had just as major back surgery & you can get it after a major surgery.
