I stopped regularly at this store on my weekly trip from Dothan to Troy when they had a dedicated person working in the plant section. First year it was wonderfully maintained and had a good variety of plants. The next summer with no one to work in the plants and an obviously harried manager plants began dying. I quit going the 3rd year after getting tired of seeing beautiful Proven Winners plants burn up due to not being put in the correct spot ( sun vs shade) or lack of watering. Marvin's in Ozark would be getting a 5 star from me. They have great service, they have almost anything for a hardware store, including lumber material. But the staff is shrinking in size and the people that are being hired are not trained properly. Lack of knowledge. Marvin's would be better if they had knowledgeable people with full staff. It takes more than 4 people to operate a large hardware store like that.
called Marvin's because their web site SUCKS. Looking for a 12 inch pull chain for a ceiling fan. Jeremiah answered and said would need to transfer me to sales. Was on hold for 7 minutes when Jeremiah came back the line, believing it was new call. Let him know sales never picked up. He tried again, 5 minutes later good ole Jeremiah was back again assuming he was answering a new call. Told him sales never picked up. If you are not going to hire competent people, at least design you website to show the items you carry.
