Update: I recently got probably an automatic message about needing an annual exam from this doctor's office. I sent a reply back saying that "I would not be doing that, that I found a doctor elsewhere for the things I needed (and I'm in a lot better shape in that department) and that I wasn't happy with how my appointment went with this doctor" that was on July 1st. No one has replied to the message, or called back about it. Please avoid this man and honestly the office. The new doctor I found didn't mention my weight once b... read more
I scheduled with Dr. Gallo because I was experiencing significant perimenopausal bleeding and needed to be seen quickly. At the time, most Northwestern gynecologists had wait times of six months or more for new patients and he was the only physician with availability in the entire NMH system. Dr. Gallo is amazing and I’m so happy I picked him as my doctor. He listened to my concerns and helped me tremendously!!! I wouldn’t be where I’m at in life without him….thank you Dr Gallo.
I had a disappointing experience with Dr. Martin Gallo. I was prescribed estrogen alone despite having a uterus, without clear discussion about the need for progesterone for endometrial protection. After being postmenopausal for 10 years, I experienced unexpected bleeding, which was concerning and, based on a second opinion, may have been related to not having appropriate progesterone support. Given my history of a PFO and concerns about clot risk, I was also hoping for guidance on safer options such as transdermal estrogen,... read more
I was really hesitant after reading all of these reviews but I just saw dr. Gallo and it was an all together good experience. He went through everything and my exam in about 10 minutes, talked to me the whole time and didn't linger. He was there on business and got me out of there quickly. If you have concerns before you see him bring them up to the nurse before hand. He gets straight to the point and at no point did I feel violated or uncomfortable. Going back in a few months to get my IUD replaced.
