Wayne D. Marteney, DVM I have used Dr. Marteney for almost 20 years. He has so much experience, and I trust him completely. Dr. Marteney will go the extra mile for your horse to make sure it is out of pain etc.
hernia I had put in a bad review for Dr. Marteny, because I was devasted when my 2yr old died from gelding. Actually the problem was hereditary and not Dr. Marteny's fault. The breeder had a 4mo little brother of my 2yr that died, so I brought him AND he got a unbilical hernia - I called Dr. Marteny and he came out and gave excellent advice and my little is doing ok he is a yr old now. he will not be gelded - everyone is in agreement because of the hereditary thing. :-) Have use Dr. Marteney for over 20 years! A very special vet who you can trust. Kind hearted, always explains things thoroughly, always goes the extra mile and treats an animal with respect and dignity. Feel lucky to have him as our vet!
Reasonably priced Vet! I have been using Dr. Marteney for the past 12 years and have always been impressed with his candor, knowledge, warmth and ability to explain things in laymans terms. I use other, closer vets more expensive vets and I ask myself - why? He does not seem to mind coming out to Agua Dulce and always seems ready to relate a funny story or two! Great office staff as well!
Likeable Large Animal Vet Dr Marteney treated my horses several times while I lived in the AV until 18 months ago. He is extremely likeable, and I enjoyed his visits. Prices are reasonable and he is quite competent. Availability is not always good.
Excellent Vet We as a rescue have used Dr Marteney many times from needing x-rays to euthanizing on older rescue mare who could no longer go on. He always has tons of knowledge to share and is very sympathetic when delivering bad news. We love Dr Marteney and hope not to need his services but are always glad to have him around when needed.
Good Doctor I watched as Dr. Marteney did a gelding recently and found him to be very thorough, tender toward the horse and he did an excellent job of doing the surgery and cleaning up the affected area of the horse. He was polite, friendly and willing to answer all questions pertaining to this gelding procedure. His prices are reasonable and he drove all the way from Palmdale to Phelan just to do this.
