Dr. Mertens was my doctor for over 20 years in West St. Louis County and I cannot advocate more strongly for her as a wonderful doctor and great listener. She always went above and beyond for me. I detest all things medical and going to her made things so much less anxiety provoking. The only reason I stopped going is she moved farther away for her practice which hopefully has given her more time with family. I wish only the best for her and her staff.
My family and I have experienced zero patient advocacy with Marsha Mertens and her office. After reaching out to her about ordering a test for my body, that I was paying for out of my pocket, I was given a list of hoops to jump through that boiled down to paying her office more money before the CT scan would be ordered. No procedure. No medication, just a CT scan. When I was forced to respectfully advocate for myself because no one knows my body as well as me, I was met with a nasty tone and complete disregard. Dr. Mertens is an amazing doctor! She is extremely dedicated, professional, patient and above all has a great diagnosis! I highly recommend Dr. Mertens to anyone who values care and effective treatment.
She does not listen at all to what you tell her about problems that you have had for years. She makes a decision about your health and medications based on a first visit only. She has absolutely zero compassion will not continue to prescribe treatment that previous doctor has you on. She totally turns on you if you won't do things her way
Dr. Mertens is an excellent doctor in every way. We would be better off if all doctors were like her.
Dr. Mertens is very patient and understanding in taking care of my adult son's special needs. We feel very comfortable in her care.
