The property itself is beautiful—modern, clean, and offers great amenities. However, the management and leasing process were extremely disappointing. I applied based on the advertised 10 weeks free rent and $1,500 gift card, and paid a non-refundable $270 application fee. I've lived at The Preserve Apartments at Ballantyne for 24 years. I've been very pleased with my stay here. The apartments have been well maintained, and the rental pricing is competitive with other apartments in the Ballantyne area. The community here has been fairly quiet, and the office has had activities for the residents on a regular basis. The WORST UNPOFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT I have ever seen. Please please never ever even think to move to this worst society ever, A very OLD society with Unprofessional Management who will never listen to you after you sign the lease. The worst thing is if you will be committed by them for anything and in between if Management gets change which is very often in this OLD SOCIETY than they have NO DOCUMENT with what the Last management committed. Moved here from California, contingent and have in writing from Jennifer the community manager that we’d be able to have the keys set inside for us and the doors unlocked because we arrived during the holidays when the office is closed. Got confirmation text from Jennifer, then when I arrive, the door is locked! I call the emergency maintenance number and they need management approval to unlock the doors because it’s not classified as an emergency. As we were planning to move to Phoenix from the Midwest, we did a lot of online research, visited over a dozen properties in person during a global pandemic, and determined that Marquis at Desert Ridge was the best place to move to until we were ready to make a bigger commitment to our living arrangements. While the Location is pretty stellar with easy walking to Congress St or downtown and a view of town lake it was not enough to overcome the challenges in the building and community. The main theme of Watermarq is that it is a frat house. Ask any tenant you see and they will confirm. The back yard looks inviting until you watch owners allow their pets to defecate on the turf in the grill and fire pit areas. Pets are common here but yet they have turf….? I have lived here over two years. The location is wonderful and I love my apartment. The new community director has made major improvements to the cleanliness and safety of the complex. The maintenance staff and office staff are very attentive. The terms in the lease are being enforced for the betterment of everyone! It just keeps getting better.
