Harry F. Marks became sole proprietor of the Wood River branch in 1945. With remodeling and improvements in 1940 and 1948, Marks Mortuary had become a landmark business in Wood River. Harry sold his business to his sons, Harry Edwin Marks and William C. Marks in 1957. The two brothers continued to operate the funeral business and ambulance service in the community.
