The sandwich was really good. The amount of meat and the way it was cooked was extraordinary. The owner welcomed us with a warm smile which was very fine. The split pigeon peas soup was thick as well. It's more than 75 years old. The cheese wasn't greasy and went great with the meet and the bread. Good visit overall.
I ate here several times, mostly getting the reuben but also trying the breakfast sandwich with corned beef. Everything was consistently very good, from the food to the service. The corned beef was nicely seasoned and always hot from the griddle with fresh bread. I appreciated the sandwich being accompanied by a small cup of fresh horseradish, potato salad, pickle spear, and even a small classic sandwich cookie. Overall it was a very satisfying meal for the price, and I will not hesitate to visit this place again.
