15 years ago my husband was being treated for kidney cancer at MSKCC. Gene's cancer metastasized and a scan revealed a brain tumor. In December 2024, I was diagnosed with Spinal Schwannoma, a very rare type of nerve tumor that sits on the spine. This news hit me like a tornado as I had not experienced any symptoms. This tumor will cause paralysis if it is not removed due to its compression on the spinal cord. By God’s grace, I was very lucky to have found Dr Mark Bilsky that saved my life.
