We could not find a way to explain our position for the review by Shay B., but we feel you may have mixed us up with another builder (our name is similar and the other name is often confused with us)? Mark Bighley Construction has never had a foreman. Mark has always done the majority of the work himself with one laborer outside of the subcontractors that are hired for drywall, stucco, electric, insulation, and plumbing. Disappointing. I took awhile to respond, but my wife and I agreed that we should say something about this contractor. The work was adequate, largely due to his foreman. Bighley himself was absent from the site 70% of the time, but when he was present he seemed mentally removed if not downright rude. We chose him because of some reviews and the promise of green building, but we now know that these were made by friends of his, including one by his wife. The only positive was the work ethic of his employee.
Mark Bighley Construction built a deck for my home in Silver City, NM. They were ahead of time and under budget. The job they did is excellent. The man is focused, thoughtful and thorough. It was far and away the most pleasant experience I have had with a building contractor.
