My first visit with Dr. Cissell went really well. She listened to my concerns and referred me to a colorectal specialist to evaluate for possible bowel endometriosis. She also prescribed birth control to help manage the pain I’ve been having. It was the first time I felt like someone actually took my symptoms seriously, instead of just defaulting to another transvaginal ultrasound without offering other options. This time I was given other options and I'm very pleased with my first experience.
Let me start by saying I have had endometriosis and PCOS for almost a decade I know what this feels like. Today I presented with a ruptured ovarian cyst that she told me never happened and that vaginal bleeding and ovarian cyst ruptures don’t happen together….false…I’m also a medical professional… Let me say this is my first doctors appointment since I just got out of a 2 week stay in the hospital and I have now developed anxiety surrounding medical offices that the worst may happen. I had a very unexpected surgery yesterday and Dr. Cissell was on call and performed my surgery. I actually work in the same OB/GYN group as her, just in the Gainesville office so I have only met her a couple of times. I could not have been more pleased. She was absolutely amazing and made the best decisions based on what type of surgery I needed before she performed them on me . She was so extremely caring, supportive, and knowledgeable.
