Mariposa is a great company and my counselor gilbert was with me every step of the way and he came and seen me in the hospital helped get me to and from court and was able to facilitate everything when I was on bestest 100 percent review
Counselor was unprofessional and seemed like she didn’t want to be there most days. I didn’t know until after I took the DSM-5 that she couldn’t actually diagnose and I was looking for a proper diagnosis and to be able to gradually work on my issues but I left feeling uncomfortable.
If you are a man paying for couples counseling at Mariposa Womens Center, you should stop immediately and run the other way. As the name suggests, they are focused on issues from the womens perspective. They are completely clueless and couldn't care less about how men think and behave. I wasted 3.5 years talking about emotions thinking it would help my relationship and it only made things worse. Don't make the same mistake I did. Save your money and your time.
Back in the 90s I had issues with everything! My counselor Patty helped me through it and mariposa got my confidence back and helped me continue with my life! I will always be grateful for having a place to go then..
If I could I would give this place a negative 5 star. Don't do individual therapy with them they don't care all they care about is ripping you off in sessions and stealing your money. Worst experience ever. Wasted over $600 for NOTHING! Just so they can come at me with the " I think you are not ready" they are LIARS! AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. they will have you hoping to therapist over and over. Very unprofessional organization.
