I recently purchased a 1930's Doc Morton track bike from their website that was listed as, ""repainted in March 2024 in the Mariposa Bicycles – Bicycle Specialties workshop". When I received the bike, it had many imperfections in the paint, including orange peeling, high spots, runs, and painted over globs of brazing. When I messaged them about the issues, their initial response included, "There are imperfections in the brazing as that was normal for many bikes of that period". Shipping is not free if you spend more than $500. I bought a $900 Garmin computer and was charged $19.99 to ship to B.C. When I inquired about it I was not given a response as to why I was charged

I had a nasty experience with this seller through eBay recently buying an expensive 2nd hand Moulton. Don’t want to go through the painful details again. Just that when something went wrong, it’s always 100% the customer’s fault. That’s their attitude. I’ve bought from many sellers and it’s the first time I really want to rate down one. Whoever owns this place should take a serious look how it treats customers.

This place is a practically a venerable institution in its own. It breathes bikes, as do the staff who work there. I've only had a couple of dealings with them, one being an assessment on refinishing a frame, and a touch up on another frame. The assessment saved me a lot of money, and I appreciated their honesty. Earlier this summer I brought a Colnago C40 in for them to clean up some bad gouges on the BB that happened with the original owner.
