We have stayed at Mariner's Retreat regularly over several years and we LOVE it there. This is one of my favourite places to rest and unwind with my family and friends. A perfect getaway destination with amazing sea views and comfortable, clean and well equipped facilities. Beds and bathrooms are excellent too. Sitting out on the deck during the day or as the sun goes down is soul enriching. Well, another of SA's best kept secret out on the coast near Whyalla. Breath taking seeing the waves only 2m from decking. You can catch squid off the deck and have an open fire near there, with BBQ nearby under verandah. The hills/ ocean view is amazing. If you want nature and beauty, a modern beach house that sleeps 10ppl. Amazing weekend, get away. You will see many kangaroos, an emu, and beautiful ocean views from Whyalla 28kms to Fitzgerald Bay.
Booked this site for 3 nights for some R & R and was blown away with the location and tranquility of the area. We walked local trails, saw kangaroos and swam in clear ocean waters. It was if we were on our own private island. Just what we needed to relax and unwind. Highly recommended. 😊
I had an awesome time at this beautiful place and the perfect weather complimented our stay. The views of the Spencer Gulf and Flinders Ranges are magnificent and even more enjoyable when sitting on the front deck eating breakfast in the morning or having a beer or wine in the afternoon. Terrible Experience - No Electricity, Unresponsive Host, and Poor Airbnb Support We booked this property for 2 nights over a long weekend, planning to celebrate two birthdays. When we arrived at the property around 6:30 PM, there was no electricity. We tried calling the host multiple times, including the EMERGENCY contact number, but received no response. In desperation, we contacted PowerSA, who said they could send a team to check, but with a fee. While we waited for the host to respond, we decided to proceed with PowerSA.... read more
