When we purchased our sailboat, it came with 200 watts of solar and a Marine Kinetix MK4+ wind generator. We weren’t sure what to think at first, hearing many negative comments about wind generators in general. But we are quite impressed with the Marine Kinetix MK4+. It is extremely quiet at wind speeds up to 30 knots, at which point it occasionally makes a cavitation like sound for a few seconds when the gusts change direction.
