My family and I had a great time with Marin Outdoor Adventures. We had a private surf lesson with Sandy and loved it so much we booked another lesson with her for the next day. Sandy gave the three of us (all beginners) personalized instruction and made us feel so comfortable on our boards. She was great!
Tiago was an incredible guide. He was patient, energetic, fun, and instructive. We had such a blast learning to surf with him!
I thought the instructors were wonderful and thoughtful. I even stood up on the board briefly a couple of times in the beginning. My main challenge is that I needed a thicker wetsuit, and that was not available for rent at any surf shop in town (I checked). I was so cold after about 30 mins that my muscles froze up and I started shaking. Other petite women (I'm 5 feet) I am friends with told me they need a 5/4 mm wetsuit in water below 60 F. This was my wife’s first introduction to surfing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Nicki had us up and shredding in no time! I’m so grateful for this class. It really put us on the fast track to progress quickly and comfortably on what I’m sure will be a fruitful lifelong surfing journey.
