I am so saddened with my encounter at Marie's. I was with two younger kids getting ice cream after a warm day at the park. We were threatened to be kicked out because one of the children was "out of hand." We politely told the man that he is not out of control, and that he has autism. The worker replied that he did not care, and that he would kick him out if he "acts up" again! I am a healthcare professional that is well educated on autism, behaviors, and how to handle individuals when they are "out of control." His actions ... read more
