The best pizza in New York – I've been eating here for years, and Mariella's has always had the greatest pizza in New York City. The workers are friendly, and the environment is exactly what you'd expect for a pizza joint. Whenever anyone visits, and they want New York City pizza, this is the place to go.
How has Mariella stayed under the radar? – I can't believe that Mariella has only two other reviews here (as of 1/29/08). I've been eating NYC pizza for 40 years, and Mariella is, if not amongst the very best NYC has to offer, it is very close to making it into that club. Good, traditional NYC pizza has been getting harder and harder to find for years. Mariella is the real deal. It's all in the cheese. I'd walk a mile for Mariella. And I have.
Fantastic Pizza...walked a distance to get it when I worked in NYC... Even brought pizza home on trains with me. I beleive it to be the best in NYC for sure. Lunch time crowed but thats because it's very good.
New York Pizza at its best – The BEST pizza in the city! My friends and I go at least once a week - we even travel several blocks (and avenues) across town to delight in our favorite lunch. There's no POINT in eating pizza unless it's Mariella!
