After waiting 15+ years to try a new PCP, I chose Dr. Marie Baird at Specialty Physicians of Illinois based on reviews. My very first appointment was canceled last-minute and pushed out two more months. On top of that, I was caught in a back-and-forth between her office and my insurance over correcting provider information. My insurance confirmed it was the physician’s responsibility, but the office told me “No, she won’t do that,” and even laughed at me when I pressed for help. My 82 year old sister might have Alzheimer’s or dementia and she is very upset and confused. She needs a full evaluation and went to the office today and saw the nurse practitioner. her blood pressure was 160/60 so they sent her to the emergency room where she sat out in the hall for hours. She is now being sent home. In order for her insurance to cover in home care she NEEDS an evaluation. Dr. Baird isn’t available until June! Time to find another doctor.!!
Dr Baird is amazing. She is kind, understanding. She listens like a doctor whisperer. She seeks to resolve your issue, she does not push meds on you. She is open to natural healing also. Her personality is great. She is a gem in the 3700 building. I am so glad I found her.
Dr. Baird is a pro, she treats me and my family effectively and I've never had a single negative experience in this office, which is probably why it takes a while to get an appointment. Doctor and staff alike are kind and careful and professional and I've never regretted going here for care.
I'm a new patient to Dr. Baird. I'm very disappointed in her and her staff. She's very nice and thorough. My appointment was over an hour late. Her team does not respond to MyChart messages and phone calls which I totally took for granted with my prior doctor, who left Franciscan. His office was managed like a perfectly oiled machine. His Medical Assistant did the work of 4-5vpeople and responded in hours. I do not understand why they just DO NOT respond, even in an emergency.
