Maria Island is a great getaway place so stay a night or two. Wood and heater provided, 6 bunks in a room that you don't share with anyone else, pretty decent kitchen with gas cookers and pans (no plates or cutlery) and wildlife at your door. You need sleeping bags etc but it's a step up from camping. You can hire a bike but there is no food available on the island.
You can use the fireplace provided and get fire woods around camping area but there is no fire starter. I heard something noises during the night could be mouse and room has food container, make sense.
