Over 16 years ago, we raved about the child health services provided here. NO MORE. After seeing 20 PEOPLE, 13 HOURS later, our child is STILL LEAVING with the same gastrointestinal pains, no results, no meds. Xrays for our child taken in the ADULT wing, where a PRISONER who was unchained went into a rampage (Code Grey). Code Reds (fire) announced AT LEAST 5x in the 13 HOURS there, waiting 30 MINUTES at 2 in the MORNING to be DISCHARGED. I would strongly encourage parents to carefully consider their options before bringing a young child to this emergency department for care. Our family had an extremely difficult and traumatic experience when our 5-year-old returned to have sutures removed that had originally been placed in this ED. The removal process lasted several hours and was exceptionally painful. A medical student initially attempted to remove the sutures before the attending physician took over. Do all of your night shift nurses get high on Adderall and Red Bull for the night shift? Do they all laugh and joke around while CPR is being performed and there are babies having a seizure? do they all laugh at a child who swallowed a battery? Do they all make snide condescending remarks backhanded comments and treat all families like this? Absolutely will not be coming back here. This was one of the worst emergency room experiences I've ever had. I waited over 5 hours for my one-year-old daughter, who had a fever and something lodged in her foot. It took 3½ hours just to get an X-ray, and then another 1½ hours before anyone came back to tell me they had found something in her foot. After all that waiting, I was told they weren't going to remove it because it would be "messy." Instead, I was told to soak her foot every four hours and let it come out on its own.... read more
